This 7 days Uganda – Congo safari will lead you to the most interesting and amazing creatures mostly the wildlife. It will also link you to two different gorilla species like the mountain gorillas which will be spotted in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park in Uganda and the lowland gorillas in Kahuzi-Biega national park of Democratic Republic of Congo. Not only savannah animals will be spotted but also water animals like hippos and crocodiles mostly during boat cruise at Kazinga channel. The safari since it takes to two different countries it will also lead you different national parks for example Kibale forest national park, Queen Elizabeth national park and Bwindi forest impenetrable national park found in Uganda and Kahuzi-Biega national park in Democratic Republic of Congo.
Detailed Itinerary
On your first day of the safari our well behaved driver guide will pick you up from the agreed location where he will brief you about the safari and immediately start your journey. Your first stop over will be in fort portal city for lunch and stretching. Continue to Kibale forest national park and check in with the booked lodge. Move to Isunga cultural community tours for the crater lakes exploration where you will able to explore three crater lakes with their aerial view point where you see all of the while at one point. Drive back to the lodge for dinner for overnight stay.
Depending on the lodge you booked with, get up early morning for the breakfast and drive to the starting point well known as Kanyanchu visitors Centre for briefing about the field. The ranger guide who will be fully armed for security purposes will smartly lead you into the jungle in search for chimpanzees. During trekking you have high chances of spotting other primates since Kibale is the primate capital of the world and beautiful bird species. After trekking, retreat to the lodge for lunch then after head to Queen Elizabeth national park. Before checking in, you can have a boat cruise on Kazinga channel where you will spot most of the water animals like hippos and crocodiles, beautiful bird species like kingfishers, pelicans, herons and many others. After this amazing adventure drive to the booked lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Game drive in Queen Elizabeth national park is the most rewarding activity that creates memorable moments which are unforgettable. For that matter therefore, after your delicious breakfast switch off for the field where you will be able to spot a number of wildlife for example, giant elephants, the rare tree climbing lions, warthog, buffalo, bush pigs, cheetahs and many more. Continue and check in with the booked lodge in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park after your delicious meal.
Wake up early morning for the breakfast as early as possible and set off for the journey to the starting point at the park offices to meet your ranger guide for grouping and briefing about the field. Only eight people are allowed to trek a gorilla family in three hours that is one in search for the mountain gorillas, one in presence with them and another one returning to the starting point to meet your safari driver guide. Spot and learn more about these great apes mostly their social behaviors, party composition, care given to the infants by their mothers and many more. After return to the lodge for lunch and prepare to check out planning to head to Rwanda. Immediately after lunch start your journey to Kigali Rwanda where by the drive will take you about four hours’ drive to get to Kigali. Check in with the booked lodge/hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
On day 5 of your trip you will wake up and your breakfast as early as possible and prepare for the journey or drive to another beautiful country the Democratic Republic of Congo for the great and amazing adventure. You will discover a lot of interesting creatures this country was blessed with like the great apes gorillas and other primates, mountains and hills and many more. The drive will take you about 6 hours drive and your stop over will be in Bukavu town for your picnic lunch. After your delicious meal proceed with the journey to the booked lodge in Kahuzi – Biega national park which will take about one and half hours’ drive and check in.
Arise early morning this day, have your well prepared breakfast and drive to the park offices where all park activities starts from for briefing and grouping. Lowland gorillas are like other gorilla species therefore, only eight people are allowed to trek a gorilla family in three hours. Head into the jungle after briefing in search for these amazing great apes and opt a chance to see how they groom each other, their feeding behaviors, mothers give care to the infants and very many social behaviors among these primates. Note that, lowland gorillas are only found in Kahuzi-Biega national park in the whole of Africa. Retreat to the lodge for lunch and relax.
This day will mark the end of your safari among the two beautiful countries, therefore, after an early breakfast you will prepare and then check out with the lodge. Embark on your journey to Kigali Rwanda with lunch enroute. Depending on the arrival time you can have a short city tour around Kigali or visit any craft shop and buy some souvenirs to take home for remembrance. Be dropped at the airport by your safari driver guide and fly back home.
