During this adventure, you will take park in the gorilla trekking, chimp tracking and canopy with a short city tour of Kigali city where places like Kigali Genocide Memorial Center, local markets and former Presidential Palace museum will be visited. Detailed Itinerary
The driver guide from our registered safari company will pick you from the airport and this will be the start on the 5 days Rwanda safari. Straight away, the guide / driver will take you to Nyungwe forest national park that is well known for inhabiting about 13 primate species including Chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, olive baboons and many others. Arrive in the evening and head to the lodge for relaxation, hence marking the end of your 1 st day.
Wake up and head to the park headquarters of Nyungwe forest to attend briefing after breakfast. The park guide will take you through the briefing which will cover the dos and don’ts to follow while in the forest. This will make you have a comfortable visit or walk through the forest. A walk through the forest of Nyungwe forest while on the search is amazing and you will be able to spot different primates like the Vervet monkeys, colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, olive baboons and many more accompanied with different bird species. Locate a troop or group of chimpanzees and spend a maximum of an hour and this will create everlasting memories. You will head to the lodge for lunch, followed by a smooth canopy walk in the evening. This is a bridge that is suspended at the height of 70 meters and 160 meters long. The experience takes about 2 to 3 hours as you enjoy the aerial view of entire Nyungwe forest. Different birds and primates will be spotted while on this canopy walk. Return to the lodge in the evening and this will be the end of the day.
Leave Nyungwe national park and head to Volcanoes national park with a great view of Lake Kivu and the surrounding areas. You will have lunch on the way and in the evening, you will check in one of the booked accommodations in Volcanoes national park.
This great experience of gorilla trekking will begin with briefing after breakfast and this will create the best time in the jungle. The ranger guide will tell you about what to do and what you’re not supposed to do while in the forest. Among others include; don’t make noise, do not use flash light camera, keep a distance from the endangered mountain gorillas, don’t vocalize the primates and do not litter the forest. Start the search with the guidance of the park ranger guide who will take you through the best trail ever as you encounter other eye-catching attractions like the different birds and other primates like the colobus monkeys, vevert monkeys and many more. Spend an hour while in the presence of the gorilla family trekked upon locating it and watch the family members keenly doing their daily activities like breast feeding, walking, eating, playing and the silverback which is the head of the group practice leadership skills. After you will head back to the lodge and have a leisure time.
This will be the last day of your safari as you undertake the scenic journey back to Kigali after a cup of tea or coffee. Board your flight back home after a short city tour in Kigali where you will visit places like the Rwanda genocide memorial grounds, local markets like the Kigali central market, Kimironko market and many more.
