Tour Overview
The double Gorilla Trekking is one of the amazing safaris in Africa which will take you to trek the endangered mountain gorillas twice in two days while trekking different gorillas’ families in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park in Uganda the pearl of Africa. The safari will take you to the point where the equator crosses Uganda and you will also enjoy the beautiful scenery of the surrounding such as the forests, rolling hills, plantations such as the coffee and Bananas, Ankole cattle farms, swamps and much more. You have an option activity of visiting the Batwa cultural village or community where you will be entertained through traditional dances and music.
Detailed Itinerary
You will begin the day by being picked from any point in Kampala or Entebbe and then transfer to the mighty Bwindi impenetrable forest national park where you will be able to trek the remaining endangered mountain gorillas. This park has over 25 habituated gorilla families and you will be able to visit 2 different groups of gorillas and the journey to Bwindi impenetrable forest is amazing as you will be passing at the point where the equator crosses Uganda, banana and coffee plantations, rolling hills, Ankole cattle farms and many more. You will arrive in the evening and check in the booked accommodation.
On your first day of gorilla trekking which will begin with breakfast and then drive the starting point where briefing takes place. Cross checking of gorilla trekking permits, assignment of the park ranger guide, and meeting fellow trekker is also done at this point and again you can hire some pottered or a sedan chair in case you are a person with disability. The dos and don’ts will be well stipulated and after, you will begin the activity where you will be able to meet other primates like the red-tailed monkeys, varvet monkeys and many more. Spend an hour with the gorilla family trekked and this will create memories like, breast feeding, playing, communicating as the silverback which is the leader of the gorilla family take part in controlling the family. You will then head back to the lodge and this will be the end today’s activity.
Like the last day of the gorilla trekking experience, you will begin with breakfast and then the guide driver will take you to the office for another briefing concerned about the second gorilla family you will trek on this day. You will follow the assigned park guide and you will be able to spot different attractions while in this trail. You will have an hour while in the presence of mountain gorillas of the family trekked and this will be a different experience from that of yesterday. You will after trek back to the lodge and have an optional activity of Batwa cultural experience. This will introduce you to the real culture of Africa where you will take part in cultural wear, music and dance, and maybe tasting of the local dishes.
Wake up early and embark on the journey back to Kampala with a stopover at the Uganda equator where you have another doze of photos and again be served with late lunch. You will proceed and be dropped at the airport where you will board your flight back home hence end of the tour.
