Detailed Itinerary
The first day of your 3 days Murchison falls wildlife Safari starts with the scenic drivefrom Kampala along the northern circuit to the country’s most popular safari destination, Murchison falls National Park. Make a stop at Luwero Town for some fresh tropical fruits (yellow bananas, pineapples, mangoes and passion fruits) then avert from the highway on arriving Nakasongola district to continue to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Get off the safari vehicle and start the on-foot Rhino tracking adventure in the Sanctuary to get up-close and personal with Uganda’s only population of southern white Rhinos in the wild. Lunch will be served in or outside the sanctuary before continuing to Murchison falls National Park, your final destination. As you drive through the park towards the Safari Lodge, be sure to see Defassa waterbucks, buffaloes, elephants, Uganda Kobs, giraffes and warthogs as a way of informing you of what to expect here.
Head to the wildlife-rich spots in Murchison falls National Park aboard an open safari vehicle with an experienced Park Ranger who will be identifying and providing detailed information on the spotted animals such as African bush elephants, lions, Cape buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, Oribis, warthogs, Olive baboons, Topis, Vervet monkeys, hartebeests, leopards, bushbucks, spotted hyenas, Roan antelopes and many others.Also take in the sights and sounds of outstanding bird species before taking a lunch break at the Safari Lodge. After lunch and the break, your next stop is at Victoria Nile but first, converge at paraa jetty for briefing from the Park Ranger and Captain. Continue to take in sights and sounds of the birds especially pink-backed pelicans, African fish eagles, pied and malachite kingfishers, great white pelicans, shoebill storks and many others, without missing to catch a glimpse at the huge Hippos and Nile crocodiles. Disembark the boat after capturing views of the Murchison falls and continue for the hike to the top of the falls – another unmissable tourist activity. Today’s adventures end with bonfire and cultural performance before having dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye to north-western Uganda and head back to Kampala. The drop-off point is either at a hotel in Kampala/Entebbe for those planning to continue into the next level of Ugandan safaris or the Airport for those leaving the country.
