With our 3 days Lake Mburo Wildlife Safari, you will drive through the famous game tracks of Uganda’s smallest but very endowed Savannah dominated National Park, walk through its breathtaking hiking trails at your own pace and ride on a boat to the shores of Lake Mburo. You will see some of the rarest wildlife species that even the mighty protected areas like Murchison falls national park, Queen Elizabeth National Park and Kidepo Valley National Park can’t offer. Expect sights and sounds of leopards, impalas, Roan antelopes, giant elands, Oribis, Defassa waterbucks, Klipspringers, warthogs, jackals, Cape buffaloes, Rothschild giraffes, bushbucks, serval cats, Burchell’s zebras, spotted hyenas, genets, bush pigs, Bohor Reedbucks, duikers, Sitatunga and many others.
Embark on a road trip to the safari destination of interest – Lake Mburo National Park, about 146 miles from Kampala. You will spend 3-4 hours on the road while enjoying views of the vast banana plantations, rolling hills and Rock kopjes before arriving the Park via Sanga or Nshara Gate. Right from the gate to the Safari Lodge, sights of impalas, Defassa waterbucks, Topis, warthogs, warthogs, Giant elands, bushbucks, Vervet monkeys, Cape buffaloes and Rothschild giraffes are expected. You will settle for lunch as well as overnight rest at the Lodge and continue exploring the Park tomorrow.
You will continue exploring Lake Mburo National Park on this day with two outstanding adventures. Start the day with a cup of tea/coffee plus rusks as well as freshly- squeezed juice before boarding the 4X4 safari vehicle for the game drive where more of the Protected Area’s wildlife species are sighted. Lunch is at the Lodge, followed by siesta while waiting for the next adventure. Spend the afternoon on a boat ride through Lake Mburo, lasting 2-3 hours while spotting Hippos and Nile crocodiles on the shores. Lots of bird species such as African fish eagles, pelicans, shoebill storks, Kingfishers, Red-faced barbets, Papyrus gonolek, little bee-eaters, Bare-faced go-away bird, African wattled lapwing, saddle-billed storks and others will also be sighted along the wetlands or in the sky during this phenomenal boat ride. Savor on a delicious meal and have a wonderful rest to close the eventful day.
Begin this wonderful way walking through some of the Park’s most popular hiking trails while enjoying breathtaking views across the different landscapes-Valleys, rolling hills, Lakes, thickets and savannah plains while continuing through different areas. The hiking trail also takes you to the famous salt-lick where many animals-bushbucks, Oribis, impalas, Cape buffaloes and others usually converge. From here, have lunch at the Lodge then leave for Kampala, arriving late evening. If you are not headed home yet, you will proceed to the next phase of your Ugandan safari but if your homebound flight is scheduled for this day, you will be dropped off at the Airport. This marks the end of our 3 days Lake Mburo Wildlife Safari.
This 2 days tour to lake Mburo national park will take you to the smallest conservation area and the nearest to the capital city of Uganda and take part in only two main activities which are the boat cruise on your first day and game drive the next morning.
