Have a wonderful time and experience as you hike the 5th highest mountain in Africa during this 2 days Karisimbi Hike tour. You will see other mountains like Mount Bisoke, Mikeno and nyirangongo that is one of the active volcanoes in the Virunga massif.
On your first day, you will take part in Kigali City tour where you will explore the presidential Palace museum, the local markets like Kigali Central Market, genocide memorial site in Kigali and a many more. Rwanda is one of the beautiful countries in Africa and you will enjoy beautiful scenery covered with green vegetation and thousand hills.
Detailed Itinerary
Our senior safari guide driver will pick from either the airport or any agreed point in Kigali City and he will take you through briefing about this 2 days Karisimbi Hike tour. After, visit some of the city based attractions like the local markets where you will have a great time knowing the local fresh food stuffs and fruits sold and grown here, visit the Kigali genocide memorial site and witness thousands of innocent souls who died during the genocide wars, visit the former presidential Palace museum. After, start the road trip to Ruhengeri where Volcanoes national park is located and this will be after lunch. You have an option of visiting a cultural Village of Iby’iwacu where you will learn about the Rwanda traditional dances, music and drama, dress code, cultural meals among others. Check in the booked lodge in the evening for your dinner.
Have a morning breakfast and head to the park offices for hiking precautions like always stay behind your guide, don’t litter the park, among others. You will register and acquire some material which you will use while on the hike. Embark on the hike together with fellow hikers and you will spot different attractions like the different mountains, birds like the ross’s Turacos, Rwenzori double colored sunbird, Miombo wren warbler, blue Turacos and many others. You will see where Dian Fossey established her research station and this was a primatologist researcher who did a good job in conservation of the endangered mountain gorillas. You will spot different primates like the red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and if you are lucky enough, you will see the mountain gorillas. You will after head back and be dropped in Kigali at any point agreed upon and this will be the end of the tour.
