This 21 Days Grand Uganda Tour will take you to most rewarding and adventurous places in the pearl of Africa where you will explore the wildlife, primates and cultures and not forgetting some of the city-based attractions like the Uganda reptile village of Entebbe. There are a lot of activities that you will take part during this 21-days grand Uganda Tour and among others include game drives, boat cruises, community walks, nature walks, chimpanzee tracking, visiting the Amabere caves, the equator point, Nyero rock paintings, gorilla trekking and visiting the Sempaya hot springs. On this first day of your safari, you will be welcomed by the driver guide on your arrival at Entebbe international airport. He or she will take you through a quick briefing about the tour and this will take a few minutes, board your tourist vehicle and head to Uganda reptile village in Entebbe. This place is known to host different reptiles and more of the snakes. Study about the behaviours of these reptiles, touch and feel if you are of a strong heart and thereafter, head to Kampala to check in your accommodation.
On this day, you will be served with a tasty relaxed breakfast and after start the walk around Kampala city with some of the short drive. Among the places that will be visited are the independence monument, local markets like the Nakasero market known for fresh fruits like mangos, oranges, berries and many more, the Uganda national museum which displays the art pieces, culture and politics of this country and east Africa at large, visit religious sites like the Namirembe cathedral, Gadhaffi mosque and much more. Lunch will be served at in one of the resorts where you will taste the local and traditional dishes like the Luwombo.
Leave Kampala in the morning and head to Jinja the town known for being the most adventurous town in East Africa. You have an option of visiting the Sezibwa falls in Mukono district and you will be able to discover the hidden treasure for Baganda culture. Arrive in Jinja after having a stopover at Namawojolo for snacks and refreshments and be served with lunch. You will take an afternoon cruise on river Nile as you head to the source of the Nile. Enjoy the moment while capturing the memorable photos and after you will head to your accommodation site.
Have a leisure breakfast followed by an option activity of either horseback riding or quad biking in Jinja and after you will head to Sipi falls in Kapchorwa. A journey will take about 4 hours’ drive characterized with amazing scenic view. You will arrive, check in the accommodation facility and after dinner, you will be entertained with cultural dance and music for the Sabiny people.
Take an early breakfast and after participate in a Sipi hike which is led by the local knowledgeable guide and you will hike the three different falls of the same river. Each fall gives an impressive view hence good for watching. The overall hike takes about 3 to 4 hours depending on the speed and this means that you require to take enough drinking water and energy giving snack. In the evening after lunch, you will take part in coffee tour experience where you will explore about the Arabic type of coffee grown on the slopes of Mount Elgon around this region. You will take part in planting, harvesting and then the traditional way of processing to get the powder. You will enjoy the coffee you have processed by yourself and then head back to the lodge.
Head to the biggest game reserve in Uganda after your breakfast which is Pian-Upe game reserve with a visit of Nyero rock paintings in Mbale district. This cultural place is known to be an inhabitant for the Bacwezi people and has a very big significant to the people who live around this area. You will enjoy the paintings on the rocks and after proceed to the reserve with an evening game drive where you will be able to spot animals like the antelopes, giraffes, leopards, lions and many more. Head straight to the booked accommodation where you will spend a night.
Leave Pian-Upe game reserve after breakfast and transfer to Kidepo valley national park in the far north eastern Uganda at the border of South Sudan and Kenya. This park has the beautiful scenery covered with the endless savannah plains, valleys of the swamps and many more others. You will arrive and take part in the evening game drive where you will be able to spot animals like the giraffes, warthogs, lions, zebras, buffalos, elephants and many more. You will later be taken to the lodge where you will spend a night.
Take part in an early game drive together with a park guide ranger who will take you to the best spotting point of the wildlife. You will have the best moments like the sunrise moments in the wild and this will be a great time for photography. Wildlife that will be spotted include the ostriches, love birds, ibis, Abyssinian ground hornbill, lions, giraffes, elephants and many more others. The game drive will last for about 3 hours and head back to the lodge for leisure time and lunch. Take another great experience of visiting the neighboring community where you will get a cultural encounter of the Karamojong. This will be done by a short tour around their community called manyattas, traditional music and dances and many more. In the evening, you will return to the lodge for your accommodations
Leave Kidepo valley national park in the morning after breakfast together with your packed lunch and head to Murchison falls national park. This amazing national park gets its name from the Murchison falls on River Nile which is located in the premises of the park. The park is also a home to both woodland forest and savannahs which are separated by the river Nile. You will have an option of visiting Aru falls where your packed lunch will be served and enjoyed while on your way to Murchison falls. Arrive in the evening with a game drive where you will be able to spot animals like antelopes, buffalos, elephants and many more. Check in the booked lodge on your arrival and this marks the end of day nine on your 21 days grand Uganda Tour.
Head for an early morning game drive in the park premises together with your breakfast and the help of the park guide. You will spot more of the Uganda’s wildlife such as the giraffes, buffalos, elephants, warthogs, olive baboons, antelopes like the bush bucks and many more. The game drive will last after 2 hours including a break at the hippo pool where you will have a bush breakfast. In the afternoon, you will take an afternoon boat cruise on Albert Nile where you will spot animals like hippos, Nile crocodiles and many more. This experience will also last for 2 hours and you will head back to the lodge
Leave early in the morning to Kibale forest national park with a visit to the top of the falls which will be done by driving. You will encounter the rainbow which is formed at the narrowest point where river Nile passes and at this point, it makes the sound as for the lion hence gives a great experience in your lifetime. The overall journey takes about 5 hours but of great importance where you will be having a great view of the surrounding scenery covered with tea plantations, banana plantations, farm lands and many more others. Kibale is one of the amazing national parks in Africa and it homes 13 primates including our fellow cousin the chimpanzees. Arrive and check in the accommodation booked as you prepare for the next day adventure of chimpanzee trekking.
Take breakfast and drive to Kanyanchu tourist information Centre for briefing which will be led by the head guide who will take you through the guidelines that you will follow while trekking the chimpanzees. Start the trekking experience which will be done on foot and you will spot other primates like the valvet monkeys, olive baboons, red tailed monkeys and many more. You will meet a troop of chimpanzees playing, feeding and jumping from one tree to another and you will keep following them for an hour and you will after head to lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you will head to Isunga cultural community association at the edge of Kibale forest national park where you will learn as you get entertained from the local people who are the natives of this area. This association is aimed at conserve the wildlife and culture for both the Batooro and Bakiga. In case time allows, you will take a community walk where you will discover the different crops grown here such as the tea, coffee, maize, bananas and many more.
Leave Kibale forest national park in the morning and head to Semlik national park where you will explore the beautiful scenery of the Rwenzori ranges, rift valley escarpments and much more. You will arrive and straight away you will head to visit the sempaya hot springs which will offer you another great experience. The water boils from underground giving an opportunity for steaming, boiling your food like eggs, and hearing traditional stories attached to the male and female hot springs.
Head back to Fortportal and visit the Amabere Ga’Nyinamwiru caves after a drive that will last for 1 to 2 hours from Semuliki national park. You will be told about the traditional formation about these caves, spot the Nyakasura falls and then proceed to hike the Mwegenywa hill in case time allows. This hill will offer you with a great view of the Fortportal town, Rwenzori ranges, 3 crater lakes and many more. You will after head to Fortportal town for lunch and then proceed to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will spend a night.
Take part in a morning game drive in case you are done with breakfast at the lodge and this activity will last for 3 to 4 hours where you get a chance to spot different wild animals like lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalos, warthogs, leopards, antelopes and many more others. A picnic lunch will be served which will be done before heading for a boat cruise in Kazinga channel in the afternoon. You will spot animals like crocodiles, hippos in the waters and other animals like antelopes, elephants, buffalos will be quenching their thirst. You will drive back to the lodge in the evening for your dinner and overnight.
Head to the home of almost half of the remaining mountain gorilla population in the world which is Bwindi impenetrable forest national park after breakfast. You will pass via the Ishasha sector of queen elizabeth national park where you will be able to spot the rare tree climbing lions resting in the tree branches. You will later proceed to Buhoma sector where you will take check in the accommodation booked.
Before the experience of gorilla trekking, you will attend the briefing session where you will encounter different aspects like the gorilla behaviors, inhabitants of the park, trekking rules and regulations, cross checking of gorilla trekking permits and assignment of the park guide ranger among others. You will after head into the forest with a help of the guide ranger. An hour will be located to while in the presence of the gorillas and you will watch these creatures play, feed, communicate among others. After trek, you will have lunch at the lodge and the head to visit the Batwa community where you will explore one of the unique and most entertaining cultures in Uganda and Africa at large.
Have a leisure breakfast and transfer to lake Bunyonyi one of the famous lakes in Uganda. This is the second deepest lake in Africa after Lake Tanganyika of Tanzania. This lake is dotted with 27 Islands hence giving it great scenery while on the hike. You will be served with lunch at one of the resort hotels and you will later hike one of the surrounding hills to have an aerial view of the lake.
Take a boat cruise and visit some of the islands like the punishment island, Leprosy Island and many others while on this day. The cruise will take about 3 to 4 hours and after you will return to the hotel for a fruitful lunch. In the evening, you will relax at the shores of the lake as you admire Gods creation.
Leave early in the morning after breakfast and head to Lake Mburo national park the smallest savannah national park in Uganda. The overall journey takes about 4 to 5 hours including a lunch break time in Mbarara. Arrive in the evening and proceed to the lodge.
This will be last day of your 21 days grand Uganda Tour and it will begin with breakfast, followed by a short game drive in the park and during this 2 hours, you will spot impalas, oribis, elephants, buffalos and many more others. Proceed with a journey to Kampala and have a stopover at the Uganda equator where you will receive a magical experience, buy some souvenirs and then be served with lunch. You will be dropped at the airport in Entebbe and this will mark the end of the safari.
The safari will take you to the point where the equator crosses Uganda and you will also enjoy the beautiful scenery of the surrounding such as the forests, rolling hills, plantations such as the coffee and Bananas, Ankole cattle farms, swamps and much more.
