Virunga national park offers the cheapest gorilla permits in Africa and you will be entitled to spend an hour in presence of these endangered mountain gorillas. You will as well enjoy the stunning scenery of surrounding Virunga volcanoes. Take an optional short city tour in Kigali Rwanda depending on the available time. Detailed Itinerary
Our well knowledgeable tour guide will welcome you or meet you at any agreed point, either at the airport or hotel in Kigali city. Attend a briefing session and later transfer to Virunga national park which is located in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. You will cross the border between Rwanda and D.R. Congo while enjoying beautiful sceneries of the country side of both countries, dotted with romantic hills. Go through the immigration procedures at the border; checking the Visa, passports, etc. Check in at your place of accommodation which will mark the end of this 1st day.
This amazing adventure day will begin early in the morning with breakfast and drive slowly to the park offices. Meet fellow trekkers together with park rangers and head guide who will take you through a briefing exercise. This experience will enable you to know more about the trekking rules and regulations, behaviors of endangered mountain gorillas and all required information about Virunga national park. Start the trek where you will be able to encounter mountain gorillas. This experience may last for more or less than 5 hours, including an hour of being in their presence. Create wonderful memories while with them and this will be a rewarding adventurous experience. After the trek, return to your lodge with an option of visiting Goma town which is near the Virunga National Park.
Leave Virunga national park early morning and cross back to Rwanda and head to Kigali where you will take an optional city tour to visit places such as Kigali genocide memorial grounds, Kimironko market, presidential Palace museum and Richard Kandt museum. Head to the airport in the evening and catch up with your scheduled flight back home.
