The 3 Days Kahuzi-Biega Lowland safari takes you to meet as you trek the eastern low land gorillas while meeting as wildlife creatures. Trekking these gorillas grants an hour to be spent in their presence creating and capturing memories. The eastern Lowland gorillas are the largest among the great apes followed by mountain gorillas.They called so because the live in the Lowland areas of Mt Kahuzi and Mt Biega the two mountains that makes the park. Detailed Itinerary
Be picked from the airport in Kigali and transfer to Kahuzi-Biega national park in Democratic Republic of Congo. This park is amazing located between two mountains that is Kahuzi and Biega home to the endangered Lowland gorillas. These are largest apes and found in the Lowland areas around swamps hence the name originates. The park also homes different bird species, plants large and small mammal species, butterflies and many more. Arrive and check in the booked accommodation for your dinner.
Meet and greed the park ranger after breakfast and attend briefing about today’s experience. This exercise is very important where you get to know about the gorilla behaviors, go through the rules and regulations such as feeding wild animals is prohited, always keep a distance from the gorilla family, don’t make noise, don’t use flash light camera and many more as they crosscheck the gorilla trekking permits. Begin the search with a help of the park ranger guide as you be meeting other attractions like birds, plants and many more others. Spend an hour with the gorilla family trekked as you are taking and capturing memories. After the experience that can last for about 3 to 8 hours, return to the lodge for leisure and lunch.
Leave Democratic Republic of Congo in the morning after breakfast with a lot of memories and transfer to Kigali Rwanda crossing the Goma border. If time allows, take an optional experience of visiting some of the city based attractions such as the Kigali genocide memorial grounds, the local markets like Kimironko market, art and gallery centers and many more others. Be dropped at Kigali international Airport for a flight back home and this marks the end of the safari.
