This is a full day of adventure to explore the beautiful Volcanoes National Park and its most popular tourist attraction. Join other trekkers at the park headquarters for briefing and later allocation into any of the 12 habituated gorilla families for a once in lifetime opportunity of learning about the behavior and lifestyle of these Giant Apes. Having received the mandatory briefing from the Park Rangers, visitors are transferred to the trailhead at the border of the Park for start searching for the mountain gorillas, lasting 1-4 hours. Although the activity is challenging, it offers a deeper understanding of the ecology and having an up-close and personal encounter with the Giant Apes going about their activities for one hour. Entire afternoon is spent in the local community as you visit the Gorilla Guardian’s Village where a deeper insight into the traditional cultures and lifestyle of Rwandans will be provided. Wander through the village while making stops at the traditional medicine man to learn how to make concoctions for different ailments, become a King for a day and get chance to taste some of the local cuisines. Return to the safari lodge in the late evening for rest and dinner.
